Inscribe Christian Writers Fellowship exists to stimulate, encourage and support Christians who write, to advance effective Christian writing, and to promote the influence of all Christians who write.
ICWF started in Alberta in 1980 as Alberta Christian Writers’ Fellowship. In the 1990′s, some members moved out-of-province and wanted to retain their membership. Others from other provinces also asked to join. After prayerful consideration, members voted in 1996 to expand across Canada. In 1999 members choose a new name that would better reflect the scope of their membership and purpose statement - InScribe Christian Writers’ Fellowship.
InScribe has members across the country, including published authors, unpublished beginners, those who write to share, their God-given story; writers employed as reporters or editors, and many freelancers. Inscribe writers are in almost every genre, including short stories, books, poetry, magazine articles, newspaper columns, technical articles, stories for children and youth, and even fantasy.
Inscribe offers a magazine, FellowScript, which is published four times a year. Each issue is filled with articles on writing, book reviews, market updates, writers’ tips and other writing-related features, all geared to inspire and provide practical take-away value for Christian writers.
Each Fall Inscribe invites writers from all over to attend their Annual Fall Conference. This year the conference will be in Edmonton September 22-24, 2016 at the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre. Keynote Speaker: Linda Hall. Registration will be available on June 1st.
