My Garden - My Body

A garden is only as healthy as the soil. We planted 10 little blueberry bushes 4 years ago. I watered them, placed them where the ground was more moist, fertilized them and watched over them. They were about a foot to a foot and a half high and I had to put some ribbon on them so we could remember they were there and not mow or weed whack them down.
Blueberries are my favorite, fresh on the bush, frozen, in jam, dessert, basically blueberries add goodness to everything.
After 2 years these little blueberry bushes were still very little, and had never bore fruit. We figured it was maybe not enough sunlight. We dug them up and placed them into a big raised bed. They grew! Not much fruit yet but they grew… probably next year. Well low and behold that winter froze the roots of the bushes and killed every plant, not one survived. I was heartbroken.
Caring for my blueberries seemed like a lot of work for no fruit. Having the right soil, enough drainage, the right moisture, the right amount of light, nutrients… it takes a lot to feed the plants and make them grow.
Our bodies could be compared to a garden. Everything is connected to each other and one part has to be healthy to keep the other parts healthy. If one system is out of order in any way it affects the whole body.
Well it seems that after my war with cancer, one or 2 parts of my body, my garden still has a problem and with it comes a broken defence system to fight off cancer cells. My defense system is failing at killing these cells off. I have an infected garden with cancer cells again. Yes, #2 battle is happening. I had immunotherapy on Monday, please pray for no side affects.
All of the original cancer cells are gone, not one left, but there’s a new fight in another area.
Turns out and no one explains all this to you that everyone has cancer cells. When your body is running at optimal health, your body normally spies those cells and kills them. When any of the many systems is not functioning properly the abnormal cells are not challenged or stopped and continue to divide resulting in tumors.
Most people fear having cancer reoccur and rightly so! But no one has sat me down to explain that one of my systems in my garden is malfunctioning. No one sat me down and explained ways to add and to increase certain aspects of my garden to give it a fighting chance. What conventional medicine does focus on is the tumor, the abnormal plant in the garden, not the shape of the whole garden. Basically the same soil, equals the same results, this is often why cancer reoccurs.
It is gravely important to get the garden healthy in order to have a fighting chance.
Going through this disease and the stressors it brings becomes the first system to break. Worry and anxiety begin to creep in before each check up. Those 2 things cause inflammation and cortisol to rise which throws a wrench into 2 systems or more. If you are prone to worry about things in life, the effects are the same. Trauma in any form is a toxic load to your body.
Chronic inflammation is known to be a precursor to cancer, a body cannot live with that much cortisol from stress and your adrenal glands because your body never gets a chance to go into a rest and healing mode. Sleep is a major player to our health! One we must pay attention to.
Toxins also play a major part in your immune defense. It’s called your micro biome and it basically means how healthy is your gut. Your immune system starts in your gut.
If you only poop every 4-6 days or worse….. you MUST get help for that! Your body is holding onto a toxin fest that needs unloaded to make optimal draining of the harmful junk inside.
Pooping optimally should be - 3 meals in, 3 meals out, daily.
The research I have been doing explains that about 50-60 years ago our lifestyle was very different. We ate food from our gardens, rarely ate out, not much processed food, cleaner air and water. A huge segment had a faith side and we actually stopped working 7 days a week and got some rest. We exercised more starting in elementary school. I know my mom dewormed the family faithfully twice a year, parasites are a huge problem for our bodies and guts. We learned in school how to bake and cook the basics from scratch. There were not nearly as many people on pharmaceutical medications which bring side affects to our bodies. Other “drugs” were not as readily available. The list is actually almost endless: water, plastics, air or microwaves.
The soil and nutrients of food we ate was different we did not eat gmo and pesticide sprayed food. The ground was manured not sprayed with artificial fertilizers.
The rate of cancer back then was about 1 in 300. The information I am listening to currently says that within the next few years it could possibly be 1 in 2 or 3. That’s insane!
But what’s more the results are increasing in all major diseases, not just cancer.
The average age of a patient was 64 now it’s 45, it’s getting younger.
Can our bodies fight cancer in this toxic world? Yes- They were designed to. I have heard story after story of people surviving a stage 4 diagnosis. But they had to work at it just like a garden. They often had conventional and functional (other therapies) together.
It will not happen by chance and of course there are many variables, types of cancer, age, broken systems, support and mental health. Our bodies are a whole made up of many systems. Starting early to take care of your garden/your body is so important to keep it optimally healthy.
Going back to home cooking, ingredients from our gardens or farmers markets, organic foods, exercise, rest, sleep, supplements to make up for deficiencies. There is much we can do to help our garden get better. That’s the thing, our garden does not have to be perfect- you won’t be able to, but you can make differences to change the way your body/garden grows.
