Cancer Free!

My PET scan confirmed that no cancer cells lit up anywhere in my body. What a blessed feeling! I thank God for the healing.

The doctors are proceeding cautiously because as one said, "we were here a year ago and one seed turned into a weed," when it returned. In order to make certain that every cell is removed the talk on the table is another surgery. Surgery is not fun, cancer is not fun, treatment is not fun. I am weighing options and asking of my ultimate healer for advice, God.

In the meantime I am working through side affects of the immunotherapy treatment. Most treatment options for cancer have some kind of side affects and for a majority of people they are fairly minimal and can get through them without additional measures. However my doctor calls me a “reactor”, which means the treatments work well but they also work in areas where I do not need them to.

I in no way wish to put people off of Immunotherapy, it can do amazing things and I can guarantee you, no one person will react the same on any cancer treatment of any kind. We are each so individually made that we cannot know how anyone will react to anything. That is why we have so many kinds of food and medicines and herbs, each body is unique to itself.

For me the past couple months have gone from functional to debilitating. My joints and other inflammation areas brought on by the immunotherapy made doing basic daily chores difficult. Walking, getting dressed was a challenge and the big one, sleeping was my toughest and most painful challenge. I can certainly see why sleep deprivation is a form of torture. It works….

I wrote this top part of the blog last week and on the weekend I had a very unusual night, never had one like that. From 10:00-4:00am I had a series of "things": wild dreams, sweats, one hallucination that had me even out of bed walking around the house. At 4:00am I woke up instantly awake and heard God inform me to get out of bed, anoint myself with oil and my bedroom and that the "battle was over". He proceeded to show me what He called a team of people praying for me, it was extensively long.

You may be one of those people, I was never given clear sight to "see" who the people were and there were too many to count. My heart is so overwhelmed by these people so "thank you!" I know that seems almost pale in comparision but I am so very very grateful that you would pray for me.

It was at that moment at 4:00am that my pain level that had been debilitating went from a 10 to a 1. I could move my knees, my arms painfree. When I asked about it, God told me that He wanted all the credit not the doctors. I am praising Him!

I had another interesting "chat" with God as I was standing in my garden looking at the blossoms on my apple tree a couple of weeks ago. I first noticed a little bug running around inside a flower. I was excited that it was going to run around and pollinate the blossoms. Then there was a fly on another blossom. Oh! Apples in the making.

I distinctly heard God say to me, “how much effort did it take you to get the bugs to the flowers?”

I replied none, I do not speak "bug". God agreed and told me He could, that was His job. I could plant the tree, water it but He made it grow.

He likened it to my desire to have ice cream. I had been craving ice cream that evening and kept talking myself out of it because I have not been eating sugar because of cancer. Don’t eat sugar everyone tells you. Eat clean! So you try to clean up your food and get diligent to do it "right" as we try to save ourselves.

God asked me if I really thought that eating ice cream was going to make or break cancer. He said that just like the bugs and flies He controls everything and I had no power to change anything, I simply was not that powerful. I was trying to be in control.

He suggested that instead of trying to "control" the outcomes of our bodies, we should spend time being good stewards and taking care of our bodies, being proactive.

Learning what you should be eating to make your body into the fighting machine He made it to be. He made our body to clear out bad cells normally, whether it is cancer or whatever kind of bad cell. He wants us to become proactive and good stewards of our bodies so we do not have to go into the reactive state, but the caution was, we think we can control the outcome by our "control".

God told me that as I had planted the apple tree, I water it, give it fertilizer but I can in no way make it grow. That’s His job. He gave us these bodies, we have to feed and water them (including some ice cream or treats at times) but He makes them grow, that's His job.
