I heard a comment the other day, the comment was:  “Well enough of this ‘love’ thing, what can we actually do about this problem…?”

This person had given up on love and wanted action.  I can confidently say that person does not have a grasp on love. You see love is the response, love is the action.

God is the exact representation of love and Christmas is proof of that love.  When God, after 400 years of silence, sent a little baby to an unwed pregnant teenager, He was loving the whole world. It was not...

What do we do when we think God clearly directed our path and then the path abruptly dead ends?

We sit with our hopes dashed, spirits crushed and wondering what we did wrong or at best, how we got the plan so wrong? We start to question why God allowed this? We wonder how to go back or which direction to turn.

This happened to my husband and myself this past week.

We were so sure we were to buy a piece of property. It was prayed about, over and even one person could describe it without ever being there....

“Death is a once in a lifetime experience and I would kind of like to be there.”  These are the words of a dying teenage girl in the award-winning movie “Getting Grace” after a doctor tells her he could give her something to make dying easier.

I was privileged to go to a screening of this movie the other night, it has won 5 awards.  Along with the movie the two main stars also came to our city to do question and answer, offer photo opportunities and discuss the hard questions. Daniel Roebuck is one of...

Kanye West has a new album out that was released on Oct 25. If you know Kanye, maybe you’re thinking, oh great…sarcastically.

Well this album is different, in a sense that its titled “Jesus is King.” In the past Kanye has referred to God before, he even has a song called “I Am a God.” He has some music out there that is cruder than most and is downright offensive at best. This album is different though. If you listen to it, it’s a gospel rap album. If you pay attention to this man and who he has beco...

I love, love, love it when I get a vision of something and it turns better than I had thought.

Take this coffee table for instance. It is a plywood table that my son made in woodshop in grade 11. He is now 30 and I have kept it this whole time. I have faithfully moved it from place to place and in the recent move to our new house it has a place of prominence in our “red” room (tv, fireplace room).

I had wondered about making it fit more into our color pattern and bought black and red paint to chalk pai...

It’s back!.... if you stand still, close your eyes and listen, you will hear it: the horrible haunting sound of a hacking cough. Some poor soul over in the other aisle, or possibly right beside you is coughing and threatening to spit out a lung.

There are a couple of things you can count on in the fall of every year coming around as soon as school goes back in.  The inevitable cold and flu bugs.

It is time to revisit the preventative measures for colds and flus. My hubby, Brian swears by Buckleys, if a...

A natural pearl begins its life inside an oyster's shell when an intruder, such as a grain of sand or bit of floating food, slips in between one of the two shells of the oyster, a type of mollusk, and the protective layer that covers the mollusk's organs, called the mantle.

In order to protect itself from irritation, the oyster will quickly begin covering the uninvited visitor with layers of nacre — the mineral substance that fashions the mollusk's shells. Layer upon layer of nacre, also known as...

I am attending a course at church called Freedom Session. I have seen the material before and thought it was excellent, now is my time to try it out and see what I think about it as a participant. So far (4 weeks in) I have found it to be an excellent and helpful life tool.

I went on a road trip to Prince George and was doing my usual talking to God in the car and He showed me the above illustration, the concept is from Freedom Session. The course explains that if you are in the middle, the  “Zero” po...

Lately I’ve Been Distracted

Life is full of distractions. You must be careful which voices you listen to or allow yourself to be influenced by. It seems that everywhere you look there are people, or ads or pictures or videos telling you how to live, what to eat, what to wear, what your body should look like, where you should live, what you should drive, where you should work… you get the point.

It’s so easy to get distracted by these other voices or what’s going on around you, that you might forget jus...

This coming Sunday, October 6 is the International Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

The first Sunday in October close to Yom Kippur is the day that was first set aside as a prayer day for Jerusalem. Hundreds of millions of people around the world send up prayers to heaven for the tiny country that holds the worlds attention so closely.  Started in 2002, this event is now the largest single focused prayer event in history for Israel.

Why pray for Israel and Jerusalem?

Many reasons:

  1. I learned...
